I. School Background

    SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan was established in 1964 as a result of the initiative of the local government and the business / industrial  in Ponorogo, which for the first time was called the STM (Middle School of Technology). This institution officially became STM Negeri Ponorogo based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture number 148 / Diprt / BI / 66 on February 1st, 1966. In 1997 the name of the school became SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan, based on the Minister of Education and Culture Decree number 036/0/1997 on 7th March 1997.The school located on Niken Gandhini Street Number 98 Ponorogo, East Java, Indonesia.

    SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan Ponorogo is an international standard school in Ponorogo. The international standard school label is obtained because of the various achievements that have been achieved by students of this school, one of which is the Brick Laying Competition which has received an 'excellent medallion' at the WORLD SKILL COMPETITION in Japan and Canada and China in 2021. The school  also has a cooperation with IGI (Indonesia-German Institute). This school is a vocational school that focuses on engineering.

    Vision of SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan is to become Ultimate Vocational Education which has excellence competitive spirit and environmental perspective in global competition. 

    Mission of SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan is Providing education and training services at various levels of competence, Preparing graduates who have excellent skills, strong character of discipline, honesty, creativity so they are able to compete in the global era.

    Carry out the development and improvement of the quality of education and training in a sustainable manner,Maintain and develop the potential carrying capacity of the environment to create learning conditions, a comfortable, productive work environment by cultivating a clean, healthy and comfortable life is the other mission of this school. By this time the school is lead by innovative and creative principle named SUJONO, M.Pd.

III.Curriculum

    SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan Ponorogo is a vocational high school that focuses on engineering and the oldest technical school in Ponorogo. There are 9 competency skills held by this school. It applies block learning system, teaching factory learning, link and match and also BLUD.

Our school has been trusted by the Directorate of Vocational Education at the Ministry of National Education either directly or through the Ponorogo Regency Education Office to organize various activities, including; School Mapping and Monev, City WAN, Educational TV, MR-IT, ICT Center, Distance Education (PJJ) or Virtual Campus program. IV.Recognition and Community

    Our school got A (excellent) accreditation from BAN-SM, it applied ISO 9001:2008. Management system. We got predicate of Adhiwiyata school in national level a couple of year ago. It has partnership with Germany university, and in 2021 one of our student will represent Indonesia in the event of world skill contest in Beijing for bricklaying contest.
