I.Introduction
-The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) was established as a post-secondary education institution in 1992 under the Ministry of Education, Singapore. ITE is a principal provider of career and technical education and a key developer of national skills certification and standards, skilling Singapore for the future economy. It offers three key programmes:
Pre-Employment Training for youths after secondary education;
Continuing Education and Training for adult learners;
Industry-Based and Work-Study Programmes with employers.

-Under its 'One ITE System, Three Colleges' Governance Model, ITE has three Colleges - ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West, each empowered to develop their own niches of excellence to enhance students’ success and the attractiveness of an ITE Education.
II.School Information
-ITE offers National ITE Certificate (Nitec), Higher Nitec and Diploma level courses at the three Colleges.
The courses are grouped in career clusters:
Applied & Health Sciences;
Business & Services;
Design & Media;
Electronics & InfoComm Technology;
Engineering; and
Hospitality.
-The academic year in ITE is made up of two terms, commencing January and April respectively. Distributed across three Colleges, ITE has an enrolment of 28,000 students and 1,600 academic staff.
-Students have access to various student services in the areas of financial assistance, education and career guidance (ECG) and learning support.
-A team of ECG counsellors at the Career Services Centre in each College help students to identify interests, personality, job prospects and educational needs. The counsellors guide students to explore available options and pathways, and develop educational and career goals.
-Each College also has a Learning Accessibility Office to support students with Special Education Needs (SEN) in their learning process so that these students can have a holistic education and attain work skills to gain meaningful employment upon graduation.
III.Curriculum
-The curriculum and programmes are designed with students in mind. An unique 'Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on' education caters to students who learn best by doing and experiencing in a nurturing environment facilitated by caring lecturers.
-A holistic education for all-round student development through:
Hands-on training to equip student with employable skill sets
Minds-on learning to develop student into an independent-thinking and highly adaptable individual
Hearts-on learning to nurture student into a person who has passion for what he does, has self-belief and who cares for the community and society
-An ITE student gets to practise what he has learnt through the integration of theory with practice through coursework, industry exposure, projects and experiential learning. The aim is for student to become an all-rounded 'Career-Ready, Life-Ready and World-Ready' graduate.
-ITE’s courses are designed in close consultation with industry to ensure that graduate is equipped with work-ready skills relevant to changing industry needs. The ITE Academic Advisory Committees (AACs) are set up to examine and approve the syllabuses of courses for the respective industries. Each AAC comprises employer representatives, professionals and specialists from the respective industries.
-Industry internship is a key part of the training. Students will spend three to six months in industry to gain valuable real work experience and important life skills through the Internship Programme.
-ITE works with industry to create authentic learning environments and facilities to mimic the ‘real world’ future workplace within the Colleges. Students will also enjoy a comprehensive range of learning facilities, such as high-tech learning spaces and digital learning approaches in the modern workshops and laboratories.
IV.Life@ITE
-The ITE Colleges are committed to creating a vibrant environment where students have ample opportunities and can explore avenues to showcase their interests and talents in arts, sports, leadership, community service, innovation and enterprise, global citizenry and environmental sustainability.
-Each College has a full range of co-curricular activities and is equipped with sports and recreational centres (gym, stadium and swimming pool), and performing arts studios and theatres to promote total development of students.
