1. School Background

1.1College Name:KOLEJ VOKASIONAL SUNGAI BULOH, MALAYSIA.

1.2Date of Establishment

    1988: SEKOLAH MENENGAH VOKASIONAL SUNGAI BULOH (SUNGAI BULOH VOCATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL)

    At the beginning of its establishment, this college was known as Sg. Buloh. Located at KM 22, Jalan Kuala Selangor - Kuala Lumpur with an area of 36 acres. At that time, the school only had one administration block, 2 blocks of 2-storey class building, 7 crafts workshops and 4 blocks of male dormitory building only. As a vocational secondary school, a total of 7 vocational courses and 7 skills courses are offered. PMR graduates are offered to Form 4 to follow the vocational courses and skills of their choice. Students will follow the course for 2 years and at the end of form 5 they will sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV) and Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) examinations. For skills courses, the certification is issued by the National Industrial Certification and Crafts Training Board (LLPPKK) under the Ministry of Human Resources which is later known as the National Vocational Training Council (MLVK).


    1996: SEKOLAH MENENGAHTEKNIK SELANGOR SUNGAI BULOH (SELANGOR SUNGAI BULOH TECHNICAL SECONDARY SCHOOL

    After being upgraded as a technical secondary school in 1996, the name of this college was changed to Sekolah Menengah Teknik Selangor Sg. Buloh (SMTSSB), on conjunction with the declaration of upgrade made by the then Minister of Education Malaysia through the press conference by YAB Datuk Sri Mohd Najib bin Datuk Abdul Razak on 27 June 1995. In the main meeting room of this college he announced that 5 vocational secondary schools were upgraded to technical secondary schools for the first phase and this college became the first technical secondary school in the state of Selangor at that time. With the upgrade, the college has offered courses in technical streams namely Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering courses. Meanwhile, 7 vocational courses are still offered as before, namely Mechanical Workshop, Automotive, Building Construction, Electrical, Electronics, Welding and Metal Fabrication and Air Conditioning courses.


    2010: SEKOLAH MENENGAH VOKASIONAL SUNGAI BULOH (SUNGAI BULOH VOCATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL)

To strengthen vocational education in Malaysia, the Ministry of Education Malaysia has decided to increase the number of vocational secondary schools nationwide. All Technical Secondary Schools which were originally Vocational Secondary Schools were made Vocational Secondary Schools, SMTSSB are also not left behind to continue to fight for the struggle of BPTV management and ensure this struggle is successful.


    2013: KOLEJ VOKASIONAL SUNGAI BULOH (SUNGAI BULOH VOCATIONAL COLLEGE)

Starting from this year, in order to strengthen the vocational stream, all vocational schools are upgraded again to the status of vocational colleges. Where Sungai Buloh Vocational Secondary School is also not left behind in this upgrade to Sungai Buloh Vocational College. This upgrade has changed all the learning structures where students no longer sit for the SPM examination. The learning process uses the semester system and learning for 4 years to qualify students to obtain the Malaysian Vocational Diploma.
